| There are over 250 million registered passenger vehicles in the United States. That means there are over 1 billion tires on America's roadways. With that many tires, what is the percentage that fails due to age? How many deaths occur due to tire failures that were related to age? How many of those failures were actually due to poor maintenance? Can you even relate a failure to poor maintenance? Without the owner admitting to poor maintenance? Although rubber ages and decomposes, I don't think it is enough concern to warrant a change in the tire industry. What is the difference between a tire that sits on a car, outside 24/7 and a tire that sits in a warehouse?
